How long does it take to get your windows cleaned?

Smaller Homes

Smaller homes will usually have anywhere from 6 to 20 windows. This all depends on the size of the home and how much the home architect relied on windows in the original home plans.

With many smaller homes we are usually on site for only an hour at most, sometimes 2 hours.

This can also depend on if our client would like us to clean anything else like their driveway or even power wash their home.

Smaller business

A smaller business building can have from only a few windows to many. We have been to businesses where there were only 3 windows to over 50.

Larger Homes And Businesses

A larger home or business can certainly have many windows. Larger homes can have up to 50 or more windows and so can a business of larger size.

The Company You Hire

All companies are different in how they operate. Some have larger crews while others have smaller member crews.

The number of people the company you hire and how efficient they are can have a dramatic effect on how long does it take to get your windows cleaned.

The time it takes can also be attributed to how experienced the crew is that comes to your home.

How Dirty Are Your Windows

The amount of dirt and grime on your windows also plays a role in how long does it take to have your windows cleaned.

If windows have been left uncleaned for many years then you may need to allow extra time to get your windows cleaned.

There may be some scrubbing involved with the cleaning of your windows and you can usually expect to pay extra for dirty windows.

Are Your Windows Old

If you have older windows in your home or business then you may want to do a general inspection of your windows first. Many times older windows can clean up very nicely. However, if they are too old then you need to consider how a company will clean them.

Damage can occur on older windows if they are cleaned improperly. Make sure to talk to the company and ask them if they have experience cleaning older windows.

You don’t want to pay for a window cleaning only to find out you really should replace your windows in the first place.

How Long To Clean Your Windows If Your Do It Yourself

Many times we are at a social gathering and when people find out what we do they tell us they wanted to have their windows cleaned but wanted to do it themselves to save on money. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Many people are perfectly capable of cleaning their own windows. And its a great way to save money especially in this economy.

If you do clean your own windows you can usually expect to spend at least a few hours to a full day cleaning your own windows.

And this will all depend on how well you want them cleaned to the types of cleaning you perform. And if it’s just you doing the cleaning or will you have someone helping you.

Make Safety Paramount

If you do decide to clean your own windows and you have a 2 story home then you need to make sure you are safe when doing so. We have all seen movies where someone was on the roof and fell off and we laughed.

But in real life it is no laughing matter. You may have never been up on your roof before and think you can do it and then found once you are up there it wasn’t a good idea. Then it may be time to call a professional window cleaner.

Just make sure you are as safe as possible before climbing your roof. A trip to the hospital will not be the cost savings you are looking for.
